It is with deep sadness that we remember and honor the life of Geri Ann Glasco, whose passing in a tragic car accident in Louisiana in January 2019 left the softball community and all who knew her heartbroken. Her sudden loss at just 24 years old was felt far beyond her family, reaching teammates, coaches, and athletes across the nation who had been inspired by her talent, dedication, and spirit.

Geri Ann was widely known for her exceptional accomplishments in collegiate softball. She first rose to prominence as a standout player at the University of Georgia, where she earned recognition as SEC Freshman of the Year, showcasing not only her natural ability but also her determination and competitive drive. She later continued her collegiate career at the University of Oregon, where she further distinguished herself as an All-Pac-12 performer. Her passion for the game and commitment to excellence made her one of the most respected players of her generation.

Following her playing career, Geri Ann transitioned into coaching, continuing her lifelong connection to softball. She joined the coaching staff at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, working alongside her father, head coach Gerry Glasco. In this role, she quickly became admired for her insight, work ethic, and ability to connect with athletes. She was more than a coach—she was a mentor, a role model, and a source of encouragement for the young women she guided.

Her life was tragically cut short in a multi-vehicle highway collision in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana. The accident occurred in the early hours of the morning in a construction zone, and despite emergency response efforts, Geri Ann did not survive. Her passing sent shockwaves through the sports world and left her family and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Geri Ann is remembered for who she was as a person—kind, driven, compassionate, and full of life. She brought energy and positivity into every space she entered and had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her. Her presence left a lasting impression on teammates, friends, and players who will continue to carry her influence forward.
